Hello Tom,
There are a few ‘Scotts’ and a ‘Webster’ mentioned.
2 of the victims were ‘Scotts’. Firstly, David SCOTT, goods guard, son of David SCOTT, farm servant, and Nancy Brown SCOTT m.s. Campbell. He was born in Kingsbarns, Fife, on 18th December, 1853.
Secondly, John SCOTT, seaman on the “Halcyon”, Liverpool. Son of John SCOTT, watchmaker, and Margaret SCOTT, m.s. Reid. Date and place of birth not given, but he was 30 years old.
{There is a lot more information in the book regarding the deceased, but the information above should be enough to confirm if they are your wife’s relations}.
Andrew SCOTT, grocer, 33 South Wellington Street, Dundee, identified one of the victims; Joseph Low Anderson.
Mary Bain, m.s. SCOTT, deceased wife of Henry Bain, farmer. Their son and daughter, Archibald and Jessie Bain, were two of the victims.
Andrew SCOTT, Moat Hill Place, Cupar. Was being visited by his nephew and neice, Archibald and Jessie Bain, mentioned above.
Peter WEBSTER, joiner, Hunter Street, Dundee, identified one of the victims; Thomas Davidson.
Regards,
Allan
