G.Townson Bathgate photographer

I have discovered a photograph of my great-great grandparents, from I think around 1870. In connection with this, could anyone tell me when the photographer, G.Townson, of South Bridge Street in Bathgate was in business? Does that date match?

Robert,
No record of him as a photographer in 1871 census, but he is in Bathgate in 1881 with his wife and 11 month old son {who was born in Bathgate}.A check of his marriage certificate, to Julia ?, will show if he was a photographer at the time, and where he was living. He is also recorded as a photographer in Bathgate in 1901.

Had occasion to look up George Townson for photo I have.
He traded from 95 South Bridge St. & 1, Whitburn Road, Bathgate - 1896-1907.
